We investigate an influence of the point symmetry on the microscopic properties of a simple nanostructure consisting of two hybridising iron-oxygen octahedral and tetrahedral clusters. Within the framework of the standard three-band Hubbard model, energy levels with their eigen-states are found for the clusters. The eigen-states are labeled by the irreducible representations of the appropriate point symmetry groups. The results serve next as a point of departure both for estimating superexchange integrals between the clusters, and, also, for determining a microscopic origin of a strong magnetic anisotropy of the charge transfer between them.
