摘要
Interoperability means the ability of autonomous and independent operating heterogeneous systems to cooperate without any help by external units. Information exchange plays an essential role for interoperability. Interoperability of the technical systems in the industrial production environment requires the exchange of defined state variables as well as the exchange of model information. This paper presents a concept to support an easy and flexible information exchange by the use of standardized characteristic value expressions. The concept allows to exchange and to interpret information concerning characteristic value expressions by common standardized functions without any additional engineering costs.
