摘要
A field experiment was conducted during the winter (rabi) season of 1995-96 and 1996-97 at Chhindwara, to determine the productivity and economics of gram (Clcer arietinum L.)-based intercropping systems. Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) and linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.) were suitable substitute for gram with regards to gram-equivalent yield, monetary advantages and benefit : cost ratio. Gram + safflower intercropping in 3:1 and 6:2 rows 30 cm apart proved more advantageous pure stands of either crop components and other intercropping systems in terms of gram-equivalent yield, land-equivalent ratio (LER), monetary returns and benefit: cost ratio.
