(Graph Presented) Activating bonds: A cold plasma generated by dielectric barrier discharge in a microreactor converts alkanes (C1-C 3) at atmospheric pressure (see figure). Large amounts of products with higher molecular weight than the starting hydrocarbons are observed showing that C-H activation at lower T favourably leads to C-C bond formation. © 2008 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
