X-ray diffraction and Mossbauer spectroscopy have been used to study the ball milled Cr and Fe mixtures with starting Fe concentrations x=0.15, 0.20, 0.28, 0.45 and 0.65 at%. The results showed that ball milling leads to a grain refinement and alloying at the initial stage for all the samples. On the continuous milling, amorphous phases were obtained in the powder with x=0.28 and x=0.45. For powders with x=0.15, 0.20, and 0.65, nano-crystalline phases were formed. An interpretation was given on the composition related amorphization.
