摘要
The electrochemical characteristics of magnesium alloy AZ31 in simulated body fluid were investigated. The emphasis of the present study was to explore the impact of two alloy processing/production techniques, namely, die casting and extrusion. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in combination with immersion tests was used for the determination of electrochemical characteristics (from 5 min to 504 h). Results were also supplemented by light microscopy of attacked surfaces. The work reveals that a finer microstructure of AZ31 leads to a more uniform corrosion process in physiological solution.
