Phase transition and phase diagram of the J1-J2 Heisenberg model on a simple cubic lattice

By extensive standard and histogram Monte Carlo simulations, we show that the magnetic phase transition is of first order in the frustrated J(1)-J(2) Heisenberg model on a simple-cubic lattice. Despite the infinite ground-state degeneracy, the system is shown to retain only the collinear spin configurations at low temperatures. (C) 1998 American Institute of Physics.
