摘要
Ad hoc relaying schemes are introduced as an effective mechanism for load balancing in wireless cellular systems. The relays facilitate channel sharing between the adjacent sectors of the neighboring cells, for the calls that are originated within their coverage area. In this paper, two configurations for relay deployment in sectorized cellular systems are presented. In each case, the probability of blocking in presence of limited-coverage relays and constrained channel sharing is derived. Numerical results verify that the proposed hybrid schemes achieve significantly better grade of service compared to conventional cellular networks.
