摘要：

This paper summarises privacy issues in the context of electronic toll collection (ETC). Developments in ETC are noted, and the ways in which privacy is being addressed are discussed. The development of privacy codes of practice by toll road operators is discussed, mentioning in particular recent development in Australia involving the alignment of such codes with Standards Australia (SA) draft guidelines and the privacy principles developed by the Australian Federal Privacy Commissioner are noted.
