摘要
A high gain fourth-order boost converter is formulated by cascading a charge-pump with diode of the conventional boost converter. The added charge-pump is simple in structure, combination of two capacitors and two diodes, and easy to integrate with boost topologies. Its gain is almost two times of the conventional boost converter. At moderate duty ratio the converter is able to step-up a lower source voltage to a higher load voltage. Steady-state analysis is performed, under continuous conduction mode of operation, and then a state-space average model is derived to establish control-to-duty transfer function. Design criteria for selection of inductor and capacitor are established. Compensator is also designed for closed-loop operation. A 12 to 36 V, 50 W prototype is used in simulation and experiments for performance validation. Simulation and experimental results are in close agreement to theoretical predictions of the proposed converter.
