摘要
Galvanostatic anodization of antimony was investigated in 0.05 M sulphuric acid containing some monocarboxylic acids such as formic, acetic and propionic acid. The results show that the formation rate of the anodic oxide film on antimony is a function of the monocarboxylic acid concentration and increases in the order formic < acetic < propionic acid. The dissolution mechanism of the anodic oxide film in sulphuric acid containing the above mentioned monocarboxylic acids is a first order reaction. The dissolution rate of the oxide film decreases with increase of the concentration and chain length of the monocarboxylic acid and increases with increase of the dissolution temperature. The activation energy for the dissolution of the oxide film is found to be 27 +/- 2 kJ mol(-1). (C) 2003 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
