摘要
Society, since long ago, has shown the desire to form responsible citizens, by focusing on the importance of cognitive development, the I.Q. The new paradigms of psychological research has shown results that emphasize the fact that emotional intelligence is important for academic success and, at the same time, leading a successful life. This explains why some students that excel at school using as standard of success the highest grades, end up much later as grown-ups, with insignificant jobs having the wages a bit over average, (the inconsistency is easily seen between professional accomplishment and the results noted on the diplomas received after graduation), while their colleagues, average students, end up being important and influential people in the world of business, with incomparably higher wages. Noticing in the community an increase of the numbers of cases like this makes us ask ourselves: "What exactly lead to this overthrow of values? The answer to this question is offered via literature from this field of research by detailing the emotional intelligence concept.
