摘要
Recently, many breast surgeons report silicone breast implants transformation prior to their introduction and after explantation in clinical practice. Often the complications are associated with reports of increased implant volumes and others of reduction. However, what is intriguing in these cases is that there are no obvious macroscopic signs of implant rupture. Despite reporting these changes, little attention is given to speculate on what are the triggering causes. In the year of 2014, Taylor and col. described a color transformation in in vivo implants and described from clear to implantation to cloudy on explantation. They discussed the possible causal factors for this change. However, the authors did not discuss what were the radiological findings of it or if there were possible diagnostic criteria to perform the diagnosis. The purpose of this case report is to report the radiological changes related to this change and to discuss the possible factors that trigger this color transformation. Level of evidence: Level V, diagnostic study.
