CRITERIA FOR IDENTIFICATION AND SELECTION OF SUSCEPTIBLE SPANISH LANDSCAPES TO BE INCLUDED IN THE WORLD HERITAGE LIST OF UNESCO

The World Heritage List of the Unesco, more than the highest international heritage recognition, makes its properties a reference for protection and management. Cultural landscapes are a relatively new category in the List. This article proposes a group of landscapes which, by their values, the Unesco criteria and the Spanish particular way of incorporation to the List, could increase the number of Spanish cultural landscapes and, thus, a greater appreciation, awareness and strategies for protection and management to the whole of the heritage landscapes.
