Solid-state Reactions of Barium Peroxide with Metals

摘要
An analysis of thermodynamic parameters of various systems suggests the feasibility of the high-rate mechanochemically promoted synthesis of mixed oxides from peroxide compounds and metals. The synthesis was accomplished in systems that appreciably decrease their Gibbs free energies in these reactions. The IR spectra and X-ray diffraction patterns of the reaction products prove formation of mixed oxides in reactions of BaO(2) with M (M = Ti, Zr, Mo, Al, Sn, Fe, Si). Electron-microscopic study of the reaction products showed 0.3-1 mu m particles, which consist of well-crystallized, misaligned micrograins 6-15 nm in size.
