Green's function for anisotropic half-space solids in frequency space and calculation of mechanical admittance

The three-dimensional delta-function representation for the elastodynamic Green's function of anisotropic half-space solids is extended to the frequency space. The Green's function is used to calculate the frequency dependence of the elastic waveforms due to a harmonic source on the free surface of an anisotropic half-space solid. An expression for the point mechanical admittance of solids is derived. Numerical results are reported for anisotropic half-space solids exhibiting cubic symmetry and an orthotropic carbon fiber composite. The real part of the admittance of a half-space solid is found to be proportional to the square of the frequency.
