摘要
In rapid prototyping, the slicing direction is a very important factor determining the accuracy of rapid prototypes and the cost of making them. For different objectives such as part accuracy and building time, different models for the optimization of slicing direction has been established. An algorithm for deriving the optimal slicing direction from the models is described. Examples illustrate the models and algorithm is found to be simple and effective.
