Statistical experiment study of gas-assisted injection molding process

摘要
Gas-assisted injection molding technique makes use of the relatively low viscosity of gas to assist in the process to attain structural rigidity without sacrificing surface quality when molding parts with both thick and thin sections. Due to additional process parameters, the determinations of process conditions are much more complex and difficult than in conventional injection molding. In the present work, statistical methods were used in conducting experimental studies to optimize gas-assisted injection molding processing conditions. The processing parameters studied include shot size, gas pressure, gas delay time, melt and mold temperatures.
