Effect of Low Voltage Pulsed Magnetic Field (LVPMF) on the solidified microstructure and wear behavior of A356 alloy was investigated. Experimental results show that solidified microstructure of A356 alloy was significantly refined when the LVPMF was applied during solidification. The A356 alloy with LVPMF treatment as-T6 state exhibited much higher wear resistance and damping capacity than that without LVPMF treatment. The adhesive wear was observed in A356 alloy without LVPMF treatment under higher normal load of 58.8N, whereas mainly abrasive was observed in that with LVPMF treatment.
