Preparation of photoactive anatase-type TiO2/silica gel by direct loading anatase-type TiO2 nanoparticles in acidic aqueous solutions by thermal hydrolysis

摘要
The thermal hydrolysis of acidic aqueous TiOSO4 solution to directly load nanometer-sized anatase-type TiO2 on the silica gel particles and their photoactivity was investigated. Among three polymorphs, the metastable phase of anatase-type TiO2 exhibited the most excellent photoactivity. The addition of SiO2 into TiO2 enhanced the phase stability. The results show that the amount of loaded anatase-type TiO2 on the silica gel is increased and the translucency of the silica gel is decreased with increasing the concentration of the TiOSO 4 solution.
