摘要
Dual-mode chokes for decreasing both common-mode and differential-mode noises have been developed. In this paper, the dual-mode chokes with superior magnetic-core utilization rates are investigated by increasing number of magnetic legs. At a design stage, we established an inductance calculation technology considering of magnetic saturation about dual-mode chokes. First, we describe an inductance calculation method for dual-mode chokes using magnetic circuit theory by core structure and winding specification. In the inductance calculation, the influence of DC magnetic saturation by the DC current was considered. Moreover, as a result of comparing the dual-mode chokes with conventional filters in both inductance and noise reduction, we judge the dual-mode choke to be useful for downsizing.
