Photocurred membranes with immobilized ferrocene as mediation layer for glucose biosensor

摘要
An amperometric ferrocene-containing copolymer-coated electrode for the analysis of glucose is described. Ferrocene acts as an electron transferring agent, which shuttles electron from the redox center of the enzyme glucose oxidase (GOD) to the carbon-paste screen-printed working electrode. The electrochemical redox reaction can be performed at a low potential (0.30V). From the cyclic voltammetry and amperometric measurements, the entrapped ferrocene were proved to function as mediator between GOD and carbon-paste screen-printed electrode. However, the electron-hopping reaction between ferrocenium ion and ferrocene was very slow. Besides, the hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity of the MMA-HEMA copolymer were found to affect the peak potentials of the entrapped ferrocene.
