摘要
Based on the contextual model of parenting style, this study aimed to examine whether the associations between parenting behaviors and adolescents' dietary habits, physical activity, and weight status is moderated by parenting style. A total of 1,869 parent-adolescent dyads were recruited in southern China. The adolescents' body mass index, dietary habits, physical activity, parenting style, parenting behaviors, and demographic information were collected. The results of this study suggest that parenting style could moderate the relationship between adolescents' dietary habits, physical activity, weight status, and parenting behaviors. The positive relationship between parenting behavior of "restricting access to unhealthy food and youth's sedentary behaviors" and adolescents' dietary habits was alleviated as parents' responsiveness increased. Furthermore, parents' demandingness moderated the effects of "food and physical activity monitoring" on adolescents' physical activity and weight status.
