3-(3-Fluorophenylsulfonyl)-2,5,7-trimethyl-1-benzofuran

In the title compound, C(17)H(15)FO(3)S, the 3-fluorophenyl ring makes a dihedral angle of 73.39 (4)degrees with the mean plane of the benzofuran fragment. In the crystal, molecules are linked by weak intermolecular C-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds. The crystal structure also exhibits a slipped pi-pi interaction between the furan and benzene rings of neighboring molecules [centroid-centroid distance = 3.743 (2) angstrom, interplanar distance = 3.543 (2) angstrom and slippage = 1.207 (2) angstrom].
