摘要
Alkylation of phenol with isopropanol (IPA) was studied over MCM-49 zeolites. The results revealed that proper reaction conditions could effectively suppress secondary reactions, which greatly improved the selectivity to isopropylphenol. Phenol conversion and total selectivity to isopropylphenol of 61% and 70% were achieved, respectively, under reaction conditions of a temperature of 180 degrees C, WHSV of 3.0 h(-1), and IPA/phenol molar ratio of 0.8.
