摘要
In this paper, a case study of the nineteen-century masonry tower named "Xizi" is presented. The building has been recently inspected and analyzed because of an emerging damage pattern. Nondestructive testing techniques have been adopted to assess the present situation of the tower without perturbations. The investigations on the spot reveal the presence of damaged zones concentrated close to the opening regions. At the same time, on the base of the structural characteristics analysis of exiting historic masonry tower, the numerical analysis of the masonry tower has been conducted using the ANSYS10.0 program. The deadweight and wind response characteristics of the masonry tower are presented, which can provide some useful hints for the prosecution of tower structural health monitoring and reinforcement.
