摘要
In the paper, we make an outline presentation of the studies combining the examination of selected specific phenomena of technological foundry processes and the studies on their simulation using suitable software. The possibilities to control the solidification process under specific industrial conditions with application of the coil,with cooling medium at a controlled rate of flow placed in the die, were considered. The model of the microstructure formation of the casting was assumed and microstructural parameters distribution during solidification were estimated by using Finite Elements Method (FEM) and ABAQUS system in dependence on cooling conditions and a control mode. Qualitative verification of the results of the simulation enabled to formulate some quantitative relationships, which were next used as a basis for designing of control algorithm.
