摘要
In this paper we present analysis of noise sources in long haul optical transmission systems involving transmitter, optical fiber section and receiver side. The main purpose of the study is to create typical distorted signal waveform which can be applicable for further signal regeneration analysis. This involves specifying typical optical signal to noise ratio values as well as types of distortions. An optical signal quality estimation model is developed taking into account signal degradation caused by a chromatic dispersion, nonlinear optical effects, and amplifier noise.
