Patent Risk Characteristics and Patent Insurance: A Literature Review

The characteristics of patent risk and the study of patent insurance products are highly concerned by insurance companies and technology enterprises. As an important intangible asset of intellectual property, patent right has become a key factor affecting the competitiveness of the state and enterprises, especially high-tech enterprises. The Western developed countries have patent insurance since 1980s. They constantly explores and discovers researches on patent and patent insurance during the course of operation which accumulates a lot of experience. However, patent insurance in China is just heating and it is a long way to establish and improve patent insurance system. By combing and summarizing the dynamic related literature of patent, patent risk, patent intellectual property protection and patent insurance at home and abroad, this paper tries to bring some inspiration to the research of patent insurance in China.
