摘要
The current study explored whether perceptual organization can influence performance in a rhythm task. To test this possibility we had experienced drummers play two identical rhythmic passages by different groupings. The pulse of the rhythmic passage was manipulated to create a fast task and a slow task. All 27 participants performed the rhythmic passage more accurately when they were under the influence of the slower pulse. In addition, for all 27 participants, the fastest tempo for which they were able to perform the rhythm task to criterion was faster when in the slower pulse condition. These results demonstrate that perceptual organization can affect musical performance.
