摘要
The first rotor of an axial compressor suffered from repeated failures. The reason for the blade facture was investigated in this study, and blade resonance was found to be the major cause after operation data analysis, survey on site and vibration characteristics investigation. The fractured blade was redesigned by altering its thickness distribution in the radial direction. Such a blade redesign approach can keep the axial-flow compressor's aerodynamic performance almost unchanged. The modified blade has been in operation for over three years, which proves that the mechanism investigation for the blade fracture is in the right way and the blade redesign approach is feasible.
