摘要：

This study focuses on an analysis of the efforts being made in the 21st century to carry out a historiographic transformation in the field of contemporary Catholicism. In order to develop a transnational and transatlantic history, European historians and other researchers are working in this line of investigation. An example allows us to illustrate our point about the heuristic value of a transnational history in the field of contemporary Catholicism, that of female religious congregations. Two themes will be explored: missionary circulations, and the influence of spiritual devotions.
