摘要
PurposeThe present study was conducted with the aim of clarifying and reducing the semantic ambiguities around the concept of professionalism. MethodsThe concept analysis method of Walker and Avant was used. FindingsThe analysis demonstrated that professionalism in nursing consists of three main pillars: principles of care, communication, and ethics. ConclusionsGiven that the process of professionalism in nursing may have positive outcomes for the nurse, the nursing profession, and the health system of the community, these items have been attended to. Implications for Nursing PracticeThe present concept analysis can open the way to conducting more extensive research and devising tools to identify the barriers, facilitators, and administrative arrangements by clarifying the concept.
