摘要
The reform led by Antoni Gaudi in the Cathedral of Mallorca from 1903 included the project, long longed for, to open its windows to light. This task, which he could only begin, would be continued by his disciple and collaborator, Joan Rubio, until the 1930s. From the genius of the first stained glass windows to the lesser quality of the last, the fact is that many of them gave a prominent role to nature and landscape as a means to convey the religious message, as well as inspiration in the nearby environment, conceived as a formula of identity and integration. This is explained from the thought of Gaudi and the ideological and cultural background that he shared with Rubio during his stay in Mallorca, concreting in the originality of the pieces of the first and in the artistic influences that ended up impregnating, decades later, those of the second.
