摘要
The effect of hydrogen content on room temperature compressive properties of Ti44Al6Nb (at.%) alloy was studied. The results show that hydrogen promotes a solid solution strengthening in TiAl alloys, the microhardness increases with increasing of hydrogen content, which is increased by 40% after hydrogenation with 1.22 at.% H. As hydrogen content increases, the ultimate compressive strength and fracture strain increases firstly and then decreases. The Ti44Al6Nb alloy exhibits higher compressive strength and plasticity after addition of 0.42 at.% H, which is enhanced by 10% and 31% respectively. The distinct effect of hydrogen on the mechanical properties of TiAl alloys is attributed to the hydrogen-promoted dislocation motion and hydrogen-induced solution strengthening.
