In the present study a three-dimensional finite element model was used in order to evaluate the tensile and bending rigidities and, subsequently, Young's moduli of non-chiral and chiral single-walled carbon nanotubes. A comprehensive study on the influence of the nanotube wall thickness on the Young's modulus results was also carried out using data reported in the literature.
