Contributing to question of the quality of Wikipedia and the possibilities of its use in the classroom

This article is concerned with ways in which Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, can be used for educational purposes, especially in teaching. The first deals with assessment of the quality of Wikipedia, focusing particularly on its comparison with traditional printed encyclopedias. In the following part both possibilities and limitations of the use of Wikipedia in teaching are discussed, including several examples of its practical application. The article ends with brief summary and critical evaluation.
