摘要
Based on the analysis of various components of fault current and transient energy of fault current, the concept of free wave is proposed, as well as the method of free wave extraction. On this basis, free wave energy protection is proposed. The protection principle can distinguish between faults inside and outside the AC transmission line accurately, and fault discrimination does not depend on the interaction of bilateral information, using only single-end measurement, which can effectively improve the action performance of single-end protection of transmission lines. A transmission line simulation model based on the RTDS simulation platform verifies the effectiveness of free wave energy protection.
