Automatic dust meter particle-size analyzer

This paper presents the results of the development of a new photoelectric aerosol counter designed for measuring the differential count concentration of dust particles of sixteen size gradations and for determining the total count and total mass concentration. Its main technical and operational characteristics are compared with those of similar devices, its advantages are enumerated, and its operating principles and structural layout are described. Experimental results and error estimates are presented. Some possibilities for measuring aerosols are illustrated. (C) 1996 The Optical Society of America.
