摘要
The influence of tool roughness in skin-pass or temper rolling of steel strip is investigated focusing on roughness transfer and strip elongation under pure normal loading, i.e. with no tangential shear between tool and workpiece. The process is simulated by an elasto-plastic FE simulation of plane strain indentation with plane tools provided with idealized surface roughness profiles under dry friction condition. Tool roughness is modelled as a series of circle segments with different average roughness R, and pitch size. The results are analysed statistically, showing significant influence of tool roughness on roughness transfer at various pressure levels. (C) 2008 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
