Application of image analysis in forensic examination of textile damages

Nowadays everybody gets fascinated when reading or watching what science can do in solving the crime. Since forensic science is mostly connected to medicine (forensic medicine) or ballistics and not on textile although, always some kind of it is presented or associated to crime scene, the purpose of this work was to engender the knowledge on textile affection in evidence procedures. Therefore, possibility of application for one of modern, non-destructive, textile analysis techniques such as digital analysis of microscopic images in forensic examination of textile damages caused by cold weapons was investigated.
