The formation of discrete complexes [M(mcoe)(2)S-2] (M = Cu, Ni; S = MeOH, H2O) vs. a nitroso-bridged ferromagneticallycoupled Cu-II coordination polymer [Cu(mcoe)21 is influenced by the use of solvothermal reaction conditions.
