摘要
This study analyzes how energy security has been conceptualized in Belarus, an Eastern European country that claims its national security has been jeopardized by increasing prices and the instability of the natural gas supply from Russia. The concept of energy security in Belarus utilizes a modified "A-framework" approach and encourages the development of renewable energy but does not view this type of energy alone as being sufficient to guarantee energy security, at least in the short-term. Thus, nuclear power has been chosen as the primary solution to the energy security dilemma in Belarus, despite controversy because of the heritage of Chernobyl.
