The cryopreservation of bovine embryos, methods and viability tests

The techniques used for cryopreservation of bovine embryos met a great development throughout the last decade (1,3,6,8). This is the reason why high rates of pregnancy. of over 80%. are reached, compared to the ones obtained with fresh embryos transferred in similar conditions (5,10,12). This paper wanted to experiment and evaluate two freezing methods in regard to the viability of bovine embryos at the "in vitro" cultivation. We also took into consideration aspects regarding the suitability of embryos to conservation, in regard to their evolution stage at the time of freezing.
