The earlier proposed flowsheet synthesis methods for the distillation of zeotropic mixtures and the extractive distillation of ternary mixtures using two-product columns is used to develop a flowsheet synthesis method for the extractive distillation with partially coupled heat and material flows. The distillation of azeotropic mixtures with a complex liquid-vapor equilibrium diagram is used to illustrate the feasibility analysis of the flowsheets synthesized by the developed method.
