摘要
This paper presents an overview and study of solid-state fault current limiters for low voltage residential and commercial applications. A SSFCL is proposed upstream to be installed inside a conventional panelboard or load center. Some design considerations are made and discussed for solid-state fault current limiters including its fault current limiting inductor design. The simulation results demonstrates the effectiveness of utilizing SSFCLs for residential houses and commercial buildings and verifies the advantages of fast fault current limiting and great reduction of fault energy.
