Twenty-six to 160 adults of Macrostomion sumatranum emerged from a mummified full-grown larva of a sphingid moth, Theretra silhetensis, on taro in Okinawa-jima, Japan. This is the first host record of M. sumatranum. The sex ratio was female-biased in a small brood but less so or even male-biased in a large brood.
