摘要
Introduction: Development of antiviral drugs for the treatment of Hepatitis C obtained from medicinal plants is an alternative or additional treatment in the therapy of hepatitis C. In this study, we are focused on screening the anti-HCV activity against JFH1 strain genotype 2a with using Indonesia plants including Annona muricata from leaves, and Garcinia latissima and Garcinia celebica from stem bark. Methods: The extractions used maceration method were started from n-hexane solvent and the residue continues used methanol solvent for Annona muricata and Garcinia latissima, while Garcinia celebica used acetone solvent. The extracts were then examined with a single dose 20 mu g/mL for anti-HCV activity against JFH1 strain genotype 2a and cytotoxicity against Huh7it-1 cell line. Result: Annona muricata and Garcinia celebica extracts exhibited no infection (0%) of HCV and low infections (5.7%) of Garcinia latissima extract. No apparent cytotoxicity was observed in Huh7it-1 cells treated on Garcinia latissima extract, while on Annona muricata and Garcinia celebica extracts exhibited toxicity was high 81.3% and 99.7% against cell line Huh7it-1. Conclusion: These results suggest that Annona muricata, Garcinia latissima and Garcinia celebica have potential as anti-HCV. Further study, purification of the active compounds is required to know the antiviral compound against HCV.
