Immunometabolism as a subdiscipline of physiology is evolving. Significant to the chicken, immunometabolic processes toward homeostasis and preserving the intense drive for growth are robust and rapid, incorporating significant coordination between regulatory compartments consisting of endocrine, immune, metabolomic, and microbial systems. © 2022 Oxford University Press.
