摘要：
A European specialist on Soviet and Russian economy analyzes the impact of legacies of the Soviet economic system on gender stratification within the workforce during the post-Soviet transition. The article draws on official data published in the 1990s, as well as studies by Russian economists and sociologists. The impact on male and female wages, employment, unemployment, and distribution by sectors is specified.
